Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, attributed to George Donkel, Buncombe County, NC, early 20th century, ovoid jar with flaring, flattened rim and arched tab handles, the surface covered in a tannish alkaline glaze. Shoulder impressed with Donkel's distinctive skeleton key stamp and the number "2." Chips and heavy wear to rim. Shallow chipping and wear to proper right handle. Surface wear to body and proper right handle. H 12 1/2".
