Extremely Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Miniature Jug, Stamped "4," attributed to Chester Webster, Randolph County, NC, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and spout, impressed with a four-gallon capacity mark on the front. Raised areas at the spout and body indicate this jug was made with a handle that was broken, fully removed, and smoothed over prior to firing. Provenance: Descended in the Craven family. Excellent condition with two minor base chips. H 4 1/4".
