Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865-1880, a half-gallon cylindrical jar with brushed swag decoration, stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880; paired with a cake crock with brushed floral decoration and original lid with swags, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865. Jar with T-shaped line on underside continuing onto shoulder, a 5/8" in-the-firing flake to rim, other minor chips and minor wear to rim, an out-of-round rim, and a small piece of clay adhered to body of jar near base. Cake crock with inverted Y-shaped crack from rim, extending across underside and up to shoulder on reverse, its rim secured with an old iron band, along with a chip, ping, and nick to interior of rim and staining to surface. Lid with heavy chipping, exfoliation, and salt drips. Diam. (including lid) 11 3/4" ; H (including lid) 8 1/4".
