Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware King Gambrinus Pitcher Incised Foliate Motifs and Metal Make-Do Attachments, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base, narrow collar, and semi-rounded rim, the front decorated with a molded and applied design of King Gambrinus raising a stein of beer atop a keg, flanked by incised foliate motifs. Cobalt highlights throughout. Includes tin make-do handle and copper lid. Missing original handle. A small rim chip and a very minor chip to rim and spout. A hairline to collar and spout. A reglued wedge at collar including a crack descending from it to midsection, where it forms a Y. Two large base chips. H (to top of lid) 12".
