Two Pieces of Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware with Rare Maker's Marks, NY State origin, second quarter 19th century, a cylindrical jar, stamped "A.HODGSON / GALWAY FACTORY," paired with an ovoid pitcher, stamped "ORCUTT & SMITH / ALBANY." Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Pitcher with pencil notation on underside, a thin Y-shaped crack on underside extending partway up body of pitcher, surface wear, minor chipping to base, and a short surface line from rim on reverse, not visible on interior. H (of pitcher) 11 1/8".
