Manganese-Glazed Redware Jug, Stamped "J. BELL," John Bell, Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, the surface covered in a dark-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Wear to spout, handle, and surface. A 3/8" filled and colored flake or hole near base. Shallow chips and wear to base. H 12".
