Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "NORTON & FENTON, / BENNINGTON Vt," circa 1845, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flaring rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stem bearing three delicately-brushed flowers. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: From a fifty-year VA collection. Staining and residue to surface. Some surface-level crazing to base and reverse. H 13 5/8".
