Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, American, second half 19th century, wide, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a tulip emanating from a series of swags with additional swag decoration and "1 1/2" above, probably NJ origin. Additionally impressed "1 1/2" on reverse. Includes associated lid with brushed foliate motifs, attributed to the Remmey pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865. Crock with a professionally-restored Y-shaped crack to proper right side. Lid with significant losses to knob and two small edge chips. H (of crock including lid) 8 1/2" ; Diam. (of lid) 10 1/4"
