Fine Manganese-Decorated Redware Jug, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, semi-ovoid jug with short, semi-rounded spout, the surface decorated with heavily-sponged manganese under a clear lead glaze. Excellent condition with extremely minor surface wear. Faintness to maker's mark at shoulder. H 9 3/8'.
