Glazed Redware Jar, attributed to Emanuel Suter, New Erection Pottery, near Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, VA, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tapered shoulder and short, vertical rim with inner flange design to hold a lid; surface coated in a heavy lead-and-manganese-glaze featuring dramatic splashes of orange against a heavily-speckled, reddish-brown ground.
