Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stenciled "FROM / T. Anderson, / Anderson's Landing, / W. VA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, featuring a stenciled inscription for "T. ANDERSON" below a freehand "2" and two stripes, applied over slip-coated clay. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent condition with some staining and a flake to "O" in "ANDERSON." Number "7" written in black marker on underside. H 14 1/4".
