Five-Gallon Molded Stoneware Water Cooler with Christopher Columbus Motif, attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, ovoid form with relief decoration of Christopher Columbus with flag, standing on the shore of the New World with Native Americans in the foreground and ships and a rowboat with soldiers in the distance. Elaborate relief vine motif to reverse. Cobalt highlights throughout. Impressed "5" to shoulder and "5" impressed twice to underside. Several short, faint vertical lines to base area. A 7/8" flake to underside. An 8" diagonal line from rim. A 3" crack from rim. An approximately 1 1/2" line from rim leading to an approximately 3" reglued flake to interior of rim. H 15 1/4".
