One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CLARK & Co. / ROCHESTER.N.Y," circa 1839-1851, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant with details petals and leaves. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Includes salt-glazed stoneware lid, possibly original to the jar. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Jar in excellent condition with a minor chip and minor wear to proper right handle, minor wear to cobalt, a 1 1/2" in-the-firing line to interior of rim, not visible on exterior, and an in-the-firing contact mark to front.
