Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with an artistic slip-trailed design of a daisy plant with detailed petals and leaves. Slip-trailed "2." above. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. A thin spider crack descending from spout to midsection on proper right side of jug. Some fry to cobalt. A minor base chip. H 14 1/2".
