Six-Quart Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity marks. Includes salt-glazed lid. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Jar in excellent condition with minor wear to inner rim for lid and black crayon notation on underside. A large and small chip to knob of lid. H 10 3/4".
