One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND," Madison Woodruff, possibly with Romanzo Smith, NY State origin, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with three large bellflowers conjoined at the stem. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Excellent condition with a small chip to underside at edge, a small glazed-over chip to underside at edge, a small spout chip, and staining to surface. H 11 1/4".
