Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "TROY NY," NY State origin, circa 1860-1880, ovoid jug with tooled, tapering spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a leaf, each accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some small in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 13 3/4".
