Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "BOYNTON," Jonah and Calvin Boynton, Albany, NY, circa 1815-1820, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, brush-decorated with a fan-shaped foliate motif to the shoulder and highlights to the handle terminals. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Very nice condition with light surface wear, some chipping to base (some of which occurred in the firing), and a 1 3/8" line to underside, continuing 1 3/8" up base. H 16 1/4".
