One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Pear Decoration, Stamped "POTTERY WORKS / LITTLE WST 12TH ST N.Y.," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, pronounced, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a pear hanging from a leafy twig. Cobalt highlights to capacity mark and top of maker's mark. A 3 1/2" Y-shaped line to underside, not visible on interior. Light wear to inner rim for lid. Minor surface wear and minor traces of old white paint to surface. H 10".
