Small-Sized Redware Inkwell, American, 19th century, ovoid form with footed base and wide opening, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze possibly augmented with manganese. Provenance: From a fifty-year New England collection. Chipping around base. Wear to opening. Two thin cracks from opening. An in-the-firing, glazed-over horizontal line at midsection, emanating from a small fissure. Two other small in-the-firing fissures or pings to surface. Diam. 2 1/2" ; H 1 3/8".
