One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "S D KELLOGG / WHATELY," MA origin, circa 1851-1853, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed foliate motif with scrolling stems. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. A few minor base nicks. Some fry to cobalt. Significant staining. H 11 3/4".
