Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1858-1877, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a crested parrot perched between crossed leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Chips to interior of rim. Some light fry to heavier areas of cobalt. Restoration around base area of reverse. A thin 3" crack on underside. A small, glazed-over iron ping on reverse. H 11 1/4".
