Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER, MASS," circa 1870, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of an open-handled basket brimming with a large floral spray accented with dotted trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with some in-the-firing chipping to underside and some residue from use to reverse. H 17 7/8".
