Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf, accented with a dotted trail. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark and capacity mark. A crack across underside, extending diagonally up front and onto proper right side of crock. A small chip to proper left handle. H 10 1/8".
