Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK," Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, brush-decorated with a wavy oval around the maker's mark and highlights to the handle terminals. Three in-the-firing recessed spots to body of jug, one involving an in-the-firing flake (contact mark). A shallow 3/4" in-the-firing chip to top of spout. Chipping around base, some of which are glazed over. H 14 1/4".
