One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," circa 1815, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and open loop handles, decorated with brushed cobalt daubs surrounding the maker's mark. Reverse additionally decorated with a band of brushed daubs around the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A V-shaped crack on underside, which forms a 5" Y on reverse and a 4" vertical line on side of jar. A base chip. Some shallow in-the-firing chipping to top of rim.
