Small-Sized Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "BOSTON.," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled shoulder, dipped in a reddish-brown iron solution on the upper body and base. Reglued section to handle. Large section of spout filled and colored. A small chip to spout. A 1 1/4" reglued flake to midsection on proper right side of jug. Two other oval cracks to surface at midsection, indicating two possibly reglued sections. Some additional small flakes to surface. In-the-firing contact marks to surface. H 9 1/2".
