Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, all of cylindrical form with stylized floral motifs, a one-gallon jug, stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1870; a two-gallon jug, stamped "NICHOLS & BOYNTON / BURLINGTON VT," circa 1856-1859; and a two-gallon jug, stamped "OTTMAN BROS. & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875. Norton jug with spout chips as well as crazing and vertical lines to base area. Burlington jug with a few short lines to base, fry to cobalt, staining to surface, an in-the-firing chip to handle, the handle additionally broken and reglued. Ottman jug with small spout chips, the surface with in-the-firing pings and staining. H (of Norton jug) 11".
