One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid form with footed base and tooled collar, brush-decorated with a vertical tulip between pairs of swags. Swag decoration to rim area. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent condition with some mottling to clay, a few short, vertical surface lines to base, not visible on interior, and some short, in-the-firing surface fissures to underside. H 10 1/2".
