Stoneware Jug with Salisbury, MD Advertising, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "S. ULMAN &BRO / WHOLESALE&RETAIL / DEALERS IN / LIQUORS. TOBACCO&CIGARS / DOCK STREET. / SALISBURY MD." Desirable Eastern Shore of Maryland advertising and ship chandler's form. Restored spout. A long horizontal crack at base. Some thin lines and crazing to bottom two-thirds of jug, extending a short distance onto underside. Crazing to handle. An in-the-firing chip to reverse. H 10 1/2".
