Fine Redware Bowl with Two-Color Slip Decoration, PA origin, possibly Philadelphia, late 18th century, with rounded sides and flattened rim with rounded edge, the cavetto decorated with a wavy slip-trailed band of manganese slip flanked by cream-colored slip banding, the interior base lavishly-decorated with cross-hatched, marbled cream and manganese slip lines, all under a clear lead glaze. Underside incised "XII." Wear to interior base and inner edge of rim. Outer edge of rim with two small chips. A short hairline from rim. Diam. 13" ; H 3 3/4".
