Fine Glazed Redware Jar, New England origin, first half 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and applied rounded handles, embellished on the upper body with unusual heavily-incised banding, the lead-glazed surface decorated with daubs of manganese against a green ground with orange spotting. A 1/4" hole in interior base including a 3/4" flake on underside. A 1 1/2" hairline from rim. Some other surface-level lines to exterior of rim area. Traces of old red paint to surface, primarily at base. Some light surface wear. H 10".
