Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER. MASS," circa 1858-1877, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handle, and tall collar with semi-rounded rim, decorated with a large design of a crested parrot perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Very nice condition. A 1 1/8" in-the-firing chip to underside at edge beside a 1 1/4" in-the-firing surface line, not visible on interior. A 3/4" chip to interior of rim. Nicks to inner rim for lid. In-the-firing brown speckling to surface. Some light staining to base area. H 15 1/4".
