Scarce Salt-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "ROARK," James Roark, Denton County, TX, circa 1868-1884, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim with inner ledge for lid, the surface with appealing, sporadically-smeared slip under a clear salt glaze. Old white paint fills the maker's mark. Excellent condition with some wear to inner rim for lid. H 10 1/2".
