Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Dog Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a reclining dog atop a hill with heavily-shrubbed ground. Some light exfoliation below dog. Exfoliation to reverse and underside. A wide Y-shaped crack from rim on side of crock, forming a spider crack on underside. H 10".
