Rare Miniature Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "DMD," David M. Donkel, Buncombe County, NC, late 19th century, stylishly-potted pitcher with ovoid body and upswept spout and handle, modeled after washbowl pitchers of the period. Surface covered in a green alkaline glaze. Impressed with potter's initials at base. Exceptional size and form. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing base chip. H 3 7/8".
