Rare Apple-Form Stoneware Cider Jug, American, late 19th century, molded jug in the form of an apple with detailed twig and leaves, the exterior with possible light salt glaze, the interior with Albany slip glaze. Traces of old polychrome paint decoration to exterior. This jug was produced in the same series as a larger redware cider cooler sold as lot 166 in Crocker Farm's Fall 2021 auction. Outstanding form. Very nice condition with a chip to handle and loss to most of its paint. H 1o" ; Diam. (at widest) 9 1/2".
