Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated with a brushed tulip plant emanating from the base, flanked by small swags. Swag decoration around rim. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition. A very faint Y-shaped line to underside, part of which continues 2 1/2" up base of pitcher's left side. A small in-the-making surface chip to front, covered over in cobalt slip. Minor surface wear to exterior. A minor in-the-firing contact mark to foot. H 9 1/4".
