Glazed Redware Spaniel Bank, attributed to George Wagner, Carbon County, PA, circa 1890, molded in the form of a seated spaniel with applied coleslaw fur, impressed details, and slot in rear, the surface decorated with splashed copper and manganese under a clear lead glaze. Back of spaniel with carved coin slot. Damage to mouth. A 1 5/8" base chip on reverse. A few surface flakes. A 5/8" in-the-firing contact mark to reverse. Some typical minor losses to coleslaw. H 6 3/4".
