One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO: / BENNINGTON VT:," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing recessed spot to right side of jug's front. H 10 3/4".
