Rare and Fine Diminutive Stoneware Flowerpot with Cobalt Decoration, probably New Haven, CT, circa 1830, tapered pot with attached saucer, the vessel's rim with delicate scalloped carving, the saucer rim with sawtoothed edge. Flowerpot decorated with abstract foliate brushwork on the front and reverse. Rim of pot and saucer edged in cobalt. Among the smallest and earliest American stoneware flowerpots that we have seen. Very nice condition with chips to rim of saucer and minor wear to rim of flowerpot. H 3 1/4" ; Diam. (across top) 4 1/2".
