Scarce Large-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "C.H. KETTER. / WHOLESALE AND / RETAIL DEALER IN / GROCERIES & FEED / CORNER OF THIRD & / ADAMS STREETS / IRONTON. O.," circa 1880. Unusual town name and elaborate, seven-lined advertising. Three chips to interior of rim and three larger chips to inner wax sealer rim. A tight horizontal crack at base, connecting a thin, tight crack on underside. H 10".
