Three Pieces of Norwich, CT Stoneware, early 19th century, an ovoid jug with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, stamped "G.H. STATES & CO. / NORWICH;" a one-gallon ovoid jar with blackish Albany-slip-glazed surface, stamped "SPENCER & JORDAN / NORWICH;" and an ovoid jug with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, stamped "E. WENTWORTH / NORWICH." G.H. States jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Spencer & Jordan jar in excellent condition with a small rim chip. Wentworth jug with a long crack, extending from underside onto reverse, through base of handle, and curving onto side of jug. This crack runs through an in-the-firing ping or filled hole at base on reverse. Additionally, a small piece of adhered clay to side of Wentworth jug.
