Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1875, a four-gallon crock with unusual thistle decoration, probably Ft. Edward, NY, paired with a three-gallon ovoid jar with cobalt leaf decoration, stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER, MASS." Thistle crock in excellent condition with an in-the-firing iron ping above right handle, a minor in-the-firing separation to same handle, an approximately 7" horizontal in-the-firing line at base, and a 1 1/2" Y-shaped in-the-firing line on underside, not visible on interior. Worcester jar with a small chip to interior of rim, an in-the-firing base chip, a large Y-shaped line to underside, not visible on interior, and some staining.
