Rare Stoneware Flask with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to David Clark, Cornwall, NY, circa 1810, wheel-thrown form with flattened side and heavily-tooled neck, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed plant emanating from a stylized ground. The decoration on this flask is characteristic of pieces made during the Clark family's early years of stoneware production in Cornwall. Very nice condition. Shallow chipping to base. Some in-the-firing contact marks to one side. A small chip to interior of rim. A piece of in-the-firing residue to spout. H 6 3/4".
