George Ohr Pottery Crumpled Vase, Stamped "GEO. E. OHR / Biloxi, Miss.," late 19th century, ovoid vase with footed base and heavy manipulation to the form, including a dramatic, inwardly-folded rim, a pointed protuberance at the rim, and a large wrinkle at the midsection. Surface covered in a whitish slip. Impressed with George Ohr maker's mark on underside. A fine example of Ohr’s signature style. Excellent condition with a small, in-the-firing fissure to interior along the edge of the inwardly-folded rim, as well as some flaking and minor crazing to slip coating. H 3 5/8" ; W 4 7/8".
