Rare Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, Stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG", VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with footed base and flared collar, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed vertically with a partially-visible S. Bell & Sons maker's mark on side of pitcher. Relatively few signed Strasburg redware creamers are known. Wear and shallow chips to rim. Light wear to handle and foot. H 6 1/4".
