Scarce One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "WHITE'S UTICA", NY State origin, circa 1865, squat-shaped, ovoid pitcher with squared rim molding, decorated with slip-trailed cobalt vine motifs below the cobalt-highlighted maker's mark. An additional vine motif to spout. A few small rim chips and a minor nick to spout. A spider crack in underside, which continues 4" up side of pitcher on one side and 1 1/2" onto base of pitcher on reverse, where it forms a 4 1/2" T.
