Stoneware Figural Jug, attributed to Georgia Blizzard (1919-2002), Virginia, late 20th century, hand-built in the form of a woman in dress with hands in her pockets, including heavily-incised hair and incised details to neckline and sleeves. Blizzard, who worked in a munitions factory during World War II, lost one of her lungs to black lung, and, following a failed marriage, developed paranoid schizophrenia, using potting as catharsis. Head reglued. Loss to applied trim on dress. Loss to applied neckline. Small chips to hair. A chip to nose. Small chip to one ear. Some in-the-firing lines and surface cracks. H 12 1/4".
