Rare Stoneware Presentation Pig Bank, probably Monmouth Pottery Co., Macomb, Ill, late 19th or early 20th century, molded in the form of a seated pig, the surface covered in a Bristol slip glaze and decorated with a black-glazed banner tied across the pig's back, inscribed "I'M MARY'S PIG / WHOS PIG ARE / YOU?". Additional black-glazed patches throughout and black highlights to eyes. Pierce nostrils, incised cheeks, and carved hooves, the slot formed in the top of the pig's head. Excellent form with appealing inscription. Losses to ears. Most of one rear leg missing. L 6".
